We had a wonderful evening on Tuesday 3rd June 2014 when we entered The Aberdeen & North East of Scotland Music Festival for the first time. We performed two songs, Superstar by the Carpenters and Something Inside so Strong by Labi Siffre. There were some anxious moments after the performance awaiting the judge's verdict, but were all very pleasantly surprised as all of her comments about us were positive and she rated our performance as Outstanding. We were all a little shell-shocked to find out that we had won the Crowmallie Silver Challenge Trophy, but needless to say, absolutely delighted. Very proud of Paul, our wonderful choir leader and of Ross, our equally wonderful pianist - also to everyone in The One Voice Singers who "sang their hearts out"
Here are some of our reactions to the evening:
"What a wonderful evening with wonderful people! All the effort has paid off. A group I am proud to be part of."
"So, so proud of us all!!! What a brilliant experience: the sound was AWESOME, we sang brilliantly, great conducting and fab piano playing. I am so happy to be part of the One Voice Singers."
"Fanbloodytastic night!!!"
" I feel very proud to have been a part of last night's performance."
"How fab were we!? Still in shock that we won and got great comments too!"
"What a wonderful, uplifting experience! As a relative newcomer to the group, I'm very grateful to have been made to welcome, and part of such a friendly (and talented!) bunch!!!...Onwards and upwards it seems, still smiling!!!" .
